He has spent nearly 18 years at LinkedIn and Microsoft and will remain through the end of the calendar year as an adviser to CEO Satya Nadella while supporting the transition.

Why now
In his message, Nadella said the timing was a mutual decision reached while discussing the roadmap ahead, and credited Roslansky’s team with bringing together product, engineering and design foundations for the next phase of Copilot. He also cited last week’s launch as a milestone.
Roslansky said leading the next phase would require being in Redmond full time, while his life and family are in the Bay Area. He pointed to progress over the past year in aligning Copilot and Microsoft 365 as one ecosystem, and said the work now passes to leaders set up to take it further.
What remains
Microsoft said LinkedIn remains focused on creating economic opportunity for its 1.3 billion members. Roslansky said LinkedIn has passed a billion members and nearly tripled its business since he became CEO in 2020.
Will LinkedIn’s CEO change as part of the leadership update?
No. Dan Shapero continues as LinkedIn CEO and Mohak Shroff continues in his role, both reporting to Satya Nadella. Ryan Roslansky is leaving Microsoft but stays as an adviser through the end of 2026.
