The standard we work to.
Accuracy, clear attribution and a useful public record.
Evidence comes first
ClarionBrief reports developments supported by identifiable sources. Reports link to official announcements, research publications, public documents or other clearly attributed evidence. Dates in the source material are distinguished from the date of our own publication.
Claims stay attributed
A company's forecast is a forecast. A policy proposal is a proposal. Research findings are described within the scope of the reported evidence. We do not imply attendance, interviews or firsthand observation when a story is based on published documents.
Reporting, analysis and opinion
News reports focus on verifiable developments. Analysis interprets evidence and is labeled as analysis. Opinion and sponsored material, when carried, are labeled clearly. Commercial interests do not turn unsupported claims into facts.
Clear corrections
Readers can flag an error through our contact and corrections form. Please include the article link, the disputed statement and a supporting source. Material corrections are identified on the affected story with the nature and date of the change.
Images and authorship
Context photographs illustrate a subject and do not necessarily depict the event in a report. Image credits appear alongside article photographs. Reports are authored by ClarionBrief Editorial; the fictional desk identities are explained on our About page.
